Assemblywoman Solages honors the lives lost on 9/11, meeting with community leaders and veterans.
VALLEY STREAM, NY (Sunday 11, 2022) – In recognition of Patriot’s Day, New York State Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages (Elmont-D) attended memorial services throughout the 22nd Assembly district. Assemblywoman Solages connected with the community while reflecting on the thousands of lives lost, and the countless still reeling from the physical and emotional toll endured since the tragic attacks on September 11, 2001.
“Like many of you, I remember the devastation New York faced 21 years ago. We can’t afford to take our freedom for granted. On this solemn day, we must remember and honor the ones who died on September 11, 2001. We honor the bravery of the first responders, and the willingness of communities to come together to help each other through this tragic event,” stated Assemblywoman Solages.
The tour began in Floral Park, where the Assemblywoman joined community leaders in a ceremony. Later, in Valley Stream, Assemblymember Solages joined community members, veterans, and first responders who collectively showed respect for loved ones and colleagues who passed away. “Commemorating this day with constituents throughout the district reminds me of the strength and resilience of New Yorkers,” said Assemblymember Michaelle Solages.
