Assemblywoman Solages voices support for SCOTUS DACA Ruling
VALLEY STREAM, NY– Assemblymember Michaelle C. Solages made the following statement regarding the Supreme Court ruling that the Trump administration cannot immediately end Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program (DACA), a program that protects 700,000 young immigrants from deportation:
The U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) decision to rule against the Trump administration’s attempt to terminate the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program is a momentous victory for all Americans. Our nation should symbolize the hopes and dreams of people seeking liberation and opportunity, and it is encouraging to see SCOTUS uphold those very ideals.
Although we have achieved a great victory today, we must not let ourselves become complacent as there is much more work to be done to protect the vulnerable among us. We will continue to fight for an America that values each and every one of us.
